Despite being near the tail-end of his career, LeBron James is still playing at an extremely high level. James has been truly spectacular despite recently turning 37 years of age, and is still considered one of the best players in the world. But James’ age means that he will miss games from time to time, for rest or for injury.

LeBron James missed the Lakers’ last game against the Philadelphia 76ers last night due to ankle soreness. The injury is not considered severe, and James is still highly in contention to start their game tonight against the Charlotte Hornets. But Skip Bayless believes there may be different motivations for LeBron’s absence in Philadelphia.

Skip Bayless took to Twitter last night to criticize LeBron James for missing the game against the Philadelphia 76ers. He suggested that James wanted to be healthy to play against the Charlotte Hornets, the team owned by Michael Jordan. Bayless said that it was LeBron’s way of sticking to Jordan when it comes to the GOAT debate.

LeBron supposedly has a sore knee. But you wonder if he’s also saving himself for tomorrow night’s at GOAT. He loves to put up big numbers in Charlotte against MJ’s team … as if that proves anything. Uh, Bron, it would be very different if you actually had to play against MJ.

This is an odd theory from Bayless. LeBron James, of all people, would know that him scoring a lot of points against the team Michael Jordan owns would not have any impact on the GOAT debate. But then again, Bayless is known for being critical of James to all extents, so this should not come as a surprise.

Recently, Bayless criticized LeBron James for focusing too much on scoring, suggesting that he is becoming a stat-obsessed player like Russell Westbrook in order to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA’s all-time scoring list

Bayless often talks about LeBron, with one fan even proving that Bayless posts more about LeBron James than his own wife Savannah does. Even after all these years, Bayless still remains LeBron’s biggest critic.
