LeBron James and Kevin Durant are two of the best players the NBA has to offer. As exceptional leaders, scorers, and playmakers, they bring amazing talent to the game and find an abundance of success year after year.
It is often that the two are compared to each other, and the debate on who is better has grown increasingly controversial of late.
For one of Durant’s biggest supporters, FOX Sports analyst Skip Bayless, the comparison isn’t even close.
In a recent segment on Undisputed, he explained why:
“You could see everything that LeBron James is not and Kevin Durant is,” Skip said. “First of all, Kevin Durant is the most lethal mid-range shooter we’ve seen since Michael Jordan. You’re missing a closer because LeBron James has never been a closer. Kevin Durant is the ultimate closer,” said Bayless. “What happened in the Olympics, again and again, gold medal game, Kevin said ‘let me have the basketball.’ He is now, as we speak shooting 90% from the free-throw line.”
The statement comes after a pair of 50 point games from the superstars.
Against the Wizards on Friday night, Bron dropped 50 points and 7 rebounds on 72% shooting in the 122-109 win. It was his second big scoring outburst of that week.
In Brooklyn on Sunday, Durant lifted his team to a victory against his rivals with a 53-point, 9 assist performance.
While we have yet to see them face off against each other in a game with their current teams, they both continue to dominate the league just as they have for the past decade.
For Skip, he’s already on team Durant, and his reasoning isn’t completely out of line.
