Steph Curry Wins Award For “Best NBA Player.”

Bleacher Report

Denver’s Nikola Jokic may be the NBA’s MVP (by a landslide), but Steph Curry has been voted the league’s best player — at least, according to his peers.

In the ESPYS, Steph Curry won the vote — topping LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, and Nikola Jokic for basketball’s greatest.

On Twitter, the Warriors posted a hype video commemorating the cause:

Curry was unsuccessful in leading the Warriors to the playoffs this season. But, without his play, they would have stood no chance at making it in.

The 33-year-old averaged 32 points, 5.8 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per game on 48.2% shooting this past season, putting the Dubs in a position to make the playoffs before they were eliminated in the play-in by Memphis.

He was an MVP candidate to the very end and is clearly among the league’s best players.

But it remains to be seen what Curry will be able to do going forward. Does she have enough talent to keep the Warriors in title contention, or has the window already closed for his title-winning potential?

Much still needs to play out, but Curry still has the respect of his peers, which has got to count for something.
