The 2022 NBA Draft is over and it is safe to say that this draft had some great players who have the potential to do well in the league one day. Despite that, it is truly surprising that the New York Knicks didn’t get even a single player in the first round of the draft.

They did have a lottery pick and used it to draft Ousmane Dieng. But right after drafting him, the franchise traded him to the Oklahoma City Thunder for three 2023 first-round picks. This decision by the franchise left the fans absolutely puzzled.

When the fanbase was looking forward to welcoming a young, talented star, the Knicks shattered their hopes. But that’s not all. They also traded their veteran point guard Kemba Walker to the Detroit Pistons in a three-team deal.

So it would be an understatement to say that the fans were just disappointed in their franchise. Instead, they feel that the Knicks will continue to stay in mediocrity for god knows how long.

Speaking of which, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith and longtime fan of the Knicks, Spike Lee, were present at the 2022 NBA Draft. Since they saw this disastrous draft night take place live, they couldn’t believe what had just happened. As a result, the two just bowed down and started praying to god. No, we aren’t kidding.

Lord, please have mercy. Please somebody help us Knicks fans.”

Smith was simply in despair and, as we mentioned earlier, couldn’t believe what had just happened. Looking at Smith and Lee, it is clear that this is not a good time to be a fan of the New York Knicks.

But who knows, maybe the three draft picks that they have gotten from OKC might turn their fortunes around in the 2023 NBA Draft. Until then, stay strong for all the New York Knicks fans.
