Stephen A. Smith cares about Bronny James, and the analyst opined that there’s a lot of unnecessary scrutiny on the young talent because of his father, LeBron James.

While Bronny is out there trying to make a name for himself, it’s not easy considering his father is a global superstar and a mighty successful one at that. And Smith, speaking on ‘First Take,’ said he was aware of the fact that the youngster is under a tremendous amount of pressure.

“I’ve never talked about Bronny James and it’s because of his father. I think that it is unfair to bring that kind of scrutiny on the kid and I’m very very protective of him in that regard. Obviously, his name is going to continue to elevate in the mind’s eye and I think that LeBron James is the cause of that because he’s made it very very clear that his goal is to stay in the NBA until his son arrives.”

Bronny has made a case for himself as one of the best perimeter defenders in his draft class while also showcasing his athleticism and game awareness. His exploits for Sierra Canyon have garnered the buzz, but only time will tell how he fares when he does become eligible to play in the league.

Bronny James Is Projected As A Top 10 Pick In The 2024 NBA Draft By ESPN

ESPN has listed Bronny James as a top 10 pick in the 2024 Draft pick, even as all eyes lie on Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson.

The draft also lists him going to the Orlando Magic in the No. 10 place, and that comes amid James’ comments of never suiting up to play for the Magic. All things considered, it still is a major step for Bronny to be in the same league that his father is considered a legend in.

A quick look at Bronny is enough to suggest that he has the necessary skills to be in the NBA and even develop himself as one superstar the league would see in the future, but it’s a no-brainer that he has to deal with immense pressure and scrutiny on his climb to the top. Hopefully, he has the will to take the bouquets and the brickbats in equal measure.
