Kevin Durant is one of the best players of all time, and there’s no doubt that his scoring prowess has impressed many fans and analysts alike. Even though Kevin Durant struggled in the postseason, his regular season averages were still impressive. Kevin Durant averaged 29.9 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 6.4 APG during the regular season.

Prior to his time on the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant was a part of the Golden State Warriors, helping them win two championships and winning two Finals MVP awards. Many consider him the best player on those title teams, with Stephen A. Smith recently claiming that “everyone and their mother” knew Kevin Durant was better than Stephen Curry:

As a player, No. Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers in the history of basketball. We have to remember that and when he was in Golden State with Steph Curry, even though it was Curry’s team, everybody and their mother knew Kevin Durant was a better player than Steph Curry.”

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant comprised one of the best duos in basketball history, and it is clear that they wouldn’t have the same success without one another. With that being said, even if people view Kevin Durant as the better player, he and Stephen Curry were on a similar level during those championship runs.

As of right now, Kevin Durant is likely focused on making a deep playoff run next season. The Brooklyn Nets are the only team that did not manage to win a playoff game in the first round, and hopefully, they will fare better next season.

The Golden State Warriors, however, will be reaching their 6th Finals in 8 years as a franchise during the Stephen Curry era. It is good to see them find success once again after two subpar seasons. There is a good chance that they can win it all, and we’ll see if that happens soon enough.
