Stephen A. Smith Demands The Wizards Trade Bradley Beal: “He Can’t Take It Anymore. You Got To Get Him Up Outta There.”

3 Min Read

With Bradley Beal, Russell Westbrook, Davis Bertans, and Rui Hachimura, the Washington Wizards had high hopes entering the 2021 season. Unfortunately, about a month into the new season, their current situation is looking more like a disaster than anything else.

Even with a healthy roster, the Wizards have been unable to find much success this year. As one of the league’s worst defensive teams, they are second-to-last in the standings with a 3-10 record.

As the losses continue to pile up, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith became the latest to join the outcry of people calling for the Wizards to “free” their star, Bradley Beal.

“Bradley Beal is a star. He deserves better than what he’s getting in the nation’s Capitol. The Washington Wizards, at this moment in time, are atrocious. They are horrible. And it’s primarily because of their defense…

Bradley Beal was quoted a week ago saying ‘we can’t guard a parked car.’ That’s how bad he described their defense. If you saw him, reading body language as adroitly as you could do it, just go back and watch the video of Bradley Beal on the bench just shaking his head and his hands are fidgety. That is a sign of someone who is about to lose it, that can’t take it anymore.

Tommy Sheppard, Scott Brooks, you gotta get Bradley Beal up outta here. He’s a tremendous asset, but you gotta get him up outta there.”

It has been nothing but misery this season for the Wizards, and especially for Beal. After watching his co-star and friend get traded from the team, he is now stuck in a situation where there is virtually no hope of winning.

While Beal technically put himself in this position (thanks to multiple extensions he signed with the team over the years), he didn’t sign up for this.

Whether or not the Wizards will even consider trading him, though, is still a matter that is up in the air.

We’ll see when/if they reach their breaking point.
