Stephen A. Smith Says That Lonzo Ball Should Be Traded To The Los Angeles Clippers

2 Min Read

The Los Angeles Clippers have been linked with what seems like every point guard in the trade market. They desperately need a facilitator from the PG position. While Patrick Beverley is an elite-tier defender, he simply doesn’t add enough playmaking at that position. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are scoring-oriented players, and they need someone who takes some of the facilitating duties off of their hands.

One of the players that the Los Angeles Clippers have been linked with is Lonzo Ball of the New Orleans Pelicans. Lonzo Ball is an elite facilitator who can also space the floor, having re-worked his jumper during his time in New Orleans. Lonzo Ball would certainly be intriguing for the Clippers, as he would be a seamless fit on the roster while being able to handle the ball and set up his teammates.

Stephen A. Smith is an analyst that suggested that Lonzo Ball should be traded to the Clippers. The Los Angeles Clippers clearly need a playmaker: Lonzo Ball could be an option that would get them a well-rounded point guard.

Aside from his passing ability, Lonzo Ball is also an elite defender on the perimeter and would fit well with the defensive identity of the Los Angeles Clippers. Lonzo Ball would give the Clippers yet another elite two-way player and could allow them to gain that extra edge in the playoffs.
