Stephen A. Smith Says The Pressure Is On The Lakers Ahead Of Game 6

2 Min Read

What once looked like an easy job for the Los Angeles Lakers has turned into a more complex situation for the purple and gold and the pressure is getting bigger by the day. The Lakers are now leading the Finals 3-2 but the Heat are threatening to damage their plans to win the NBA title. Miami has done impressive things this season and beating the Lakers after being 3-1 down would be the cherry on the top.

They have nothing to lose and a lot to win, more so now that the Lakers are seeing how good they can play when their backs are against the wall. For ESPN’s analyst Stephen A. Smith, the pressure is now on the Lakers after all the things that happened in Game 5.

“Well, I think so because of the health of Anthony Davis. Because his health appears to be questionable, you need to get this series over in a Game 6 because clearly, you can’t rely on him being healthy. You can’t rely on LeBron James being healthy. You can’t rely on James doing what he does but the Miami Heat is saying that it’s not going to be enough. You better get some help in order to beat us. If you’re the Los Angeles Lakers, this is a tough night. LeBron scores 40, Anthony Davis scores 28 and you still lose. That is a problem for the Los Angeles Lakers. Suddenly a Game 6 becomes incredibly pivotal.”

As Smith said, the Heat have demonstrated they’re not afraid of the challenge and unless the Lakers leave everything on the floor, they will always have a chance to surprise them. Jimmy Butler is playing at the highest level, he has a very good supporting cast and if the Heat keep inspired, the Lakers will have a lot of things to worry about on Sunday night.
