It’s decided that the Golden State Warriors will lock horns with the Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs.

Considering Stephen Curry and co. are the lower seed, they need to be prepared in every aspect against the Kings. In a recent conference, Curry shared his honest opinion on the Dubs’ mental preparations to face off against the Kings.

“You have to assume they’re going to stay true to their DNA, and that made them successful,” Curry said. “It’s what we do. Going into a playoff series, those adjustments happen based on how each game kind of unfolds. Even in-game adjustments based on certain momentum waves and all that.

“We love the playoff atmosphere and all of that. But you don’t really try to outsmart yourself going into the series. It’s just being prepared and knowledgeable about what they do well.”

The Warriors may be the defending champions of the NBA, but they cannot take the risk of underestimating the Sacramento Kings. After all, the Kings are the third seed in the Western Conference.

On top of that, the franchise has made a return to the playoffs after a 16-year drought. Keeping that in mind, the environment in the Kings’ stadium will be very hostile toward the Dubs.

Stephen Curry Is Aware Of The Kings’ Strengths

On the one hand, the Kings’ current roster is inexperienced, and it could give the Warriors an advantage.

But at the same time, the Kings are hungry to prove themselves to everyone out there. They will try to outplay the Warriors every minute of the series. Keeping that in mind, Stephen Curry recently shared his honest opinion on facing the Kings in the playoffs.

“Playing Sacramento, they’re a great team, they’ve had an amazing season,” Curry said. “It’s going to take everything to beat them four times, especially starting on the road, but we love the opportunity in front of us!”

The first-round series between the Warriors and the Kings will keep fans on the edge of their seats. If the Kings manage to defeat the defending champions in the opening round of the postseason, it will truly make them one of the top contenders to win the 2023 NBA Championship or, at least, reach the NBA Finals.
