A rivalry matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns is taking center stage on the NBA’s slate of games tonight. The game is also delivering on the hype.

Stephen Curry and Chris Paul have been rival guards in the West for over a decade and started jawing at each other mid-game. Curry trash-talked CP3 by saying, ‘this ain’t 2014 no more.’

The last time the Golden State Warriors with Curry lost in the West was in 2014 at the hands of the Chris Paul-led Los Angeles Clippers. Since 2015, the Warriors have lost only two playoff series, coming in the 2016 and 2019 Finals to Eastern Conference teams.

Curry and Paul have met in the playoffs various times since 2014, with Curry emerging victorious in 2015, 2017, and 2018 in this rivalry

The Greatest Point Guards Of Their Generation

When guards from this era of basketball are remembered, Steph will be the No. 1 choice for almost everyone. His proven resume as one of the greatest of all time can no longer be doubted, with many even claiming that Curry is greater than Magic Johnson.

Chris Paul has the distinction of being remembered as the second-best point guard of this era, behind Curry. Though some may want Russell Westbrook in this role, Paul has a proven history of winning over a nearly 20-year career. Though he doesn’t have a championship or MVP to his name, CP3 has longevity and is a proven floor-raiser for every team he’s ever played on.

Curry has averaged 24.6 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds in his career so far, taking the title of the all-time leader in 3-pointers made. He also has 4 championships, 2 MVPs, and a Finals MVP.

Paul is top-3 in both the all-time steals and assists list, trailing John Stockton and Jason Kidd in both. He has averaged 18.0 points, 9.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.1 steals over his 18 seasons in the NBA.
