It’s not a secret that the Golden State Warriors surprised many people this season, taking the NBA by storm and proving they are anything but done in the association. After two rough seasons, the Dubs entered this campaign with renewed hopes, trying to make a statement.

So far, they have been terrific, but that doesn’t mean they are safe from the COVID-19 recent outbreak. Several players have entered the league’s health and safety protocol in recent days, hurting the team’s chances to keep their good pace. After a painful loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night, Stephen Curry reflected on the team’s current situation. The point guard praised the organization for staying strong even though they were hit with these cases.

The Chef saw an opportunity and took it, taking a shot at the rest of the competition to prove how well the Warriors took the hits. During the post-game conference, Curry said the Warriors managed to stay good and win games even without certain players, claiming that the rest of the teams would have folded in that situation.

“It all kind of went wrong in the first half, but I loved the way we fought. … Twenty-nine other teams would’ve probably laid down and died.”

Steph is very confident in his team and doesn’t hesitate to show it, even if that means hurting the feelings of the entire competition.

The Warriors know these situations can happen at the least expected moment, and they need to be ready for any scenario. Draymond Green didn’t play last night, and some think he would have made the difference against the Nuggets. However, Steve Kerr didn’t use that as an excuse, stating that everybody around the league has played without key players.

“It’s not an excuse. Whole league’s missing people. We have to get better with our offensive execution while he’s out.”

“It felt like we were losing the game before the free throws were bad. Our energy wasn’t right. I didn’t have them ready to play… We were turning it over, not getting good shots. Denver played a good first half.”

The Warriors will be good soon, though, as they’ll welcome people back in the next couple of days. Jordan Poole cleared the health and safety protocols, which is a major addition to Golden State. Besides, Klay Thompson and James Wiseman’s returns are getting closer, so the least the Warriors must do now is worry about their future.
