The Golden State Warriors haven’t always been a successful NBA franchise. For years following their formation, the Warriors struggled to recruit top talent, eventually stringing together years of subpar performances.
But with the rise of Steph Curry came the rise of relevancy for Dub Nation, and Golden State gradually became one of the highest-valued NBA franchises.
After a couple of years in the Western bunker, the Warriors are ready to return to a state of contention again, and head coach Steve Kerr says this roster is capable of some amazing things.

“I think this year’s team will offer a much better mix of mentors and veterans to go along with those young guys,” Kerr said to Monte Poole on the latest Dubs Talk podcast. “I think we’ll have more continuity this coming season than we’ve had since our championship teams, and a much clearer sense of who’s ready to play and who’s not.
It’s real exciting to think of the structure of the team and the balance and what we can accomplish,” Kerr said.
The Warriors shocked everyone this offseason when they elected to keep their young players instead of trading them all away.
Still, the additions Golden State made, and the return of good health for notable names, should have the fans feeling pretty good.
“It’s really hard to gauge where we are against the rest of the Western Conference,” Kerr said. “Obviously there’s a lot of great teams. We haven’t even had a practice to put the group together. But I’m very excited about the potential.
It feels to me like we’re gonna be back in a situation where we can compete on a nightly basis, and just knowing that is exciting. But we’ve got a lot of work ahead to prove that.”
With the return of Andre Iguodala, and the arrival of Jonathan Kuminga, Otto Porter Jr., Moses Moody, and Nemanja Bjelica, the Warriors have a solid foundation of talent from which to build their future.
As for the short-term, the combined efforts of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins should keep the franchise in the hunt out West.
Long story short, it’s an absolutely exciting time for the Warriors.
