Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia has made some power moves ever since he took over the team as their head honcho, and he revealed the team’s goal.

“We are going to win at everything we do,” Ishbia told ESPN recently on a video conference call. “I don’t believe you accomplish anything by being average. That’s not who I am.” (via ClutchPoints)

And by the looks of it, Ishbia is doing all that he can. He first pulled off the blockbuster trade for Kevin Durant, and while that didn’t take the Suns over the line this past season, he remained undeterred and made more of those moves by trading away Chris Paul and replacing the team’s head coach.

With Bradley Beal being the trade of the season so far, Ishbia’s moves have all but cemented the Suns as bonafide title contenders.

The latest stacked superteam in the West will surely be the cynosure of all eyes, and should they all be healthy, the Suns will be the most lethal offensive outfits. And whether Ishbia’s win-now mentality pays off remains to be seen.

The Phoenix Suns Look Like The Best Team In The NBA So Far

Given how their roster has shaped up so far, the Suns will surely be legitimate title contenders as one of the best teams in the NBA.

Soon after the Beal trade, former NBA star Kendrick Perkins labeled the Suns as the best team in the league.

“Bradley Beal, KD, and D Book? Three of the most prolific scorers in the game today on one team,” Perkins said. “James Jones is out here selling used cars for Rolls-Royce because that’s exactly what just happened. The fact that he was able to keep Deandre Ayton was huge. Look, the Phoenix Suns with this Big 3 should be the favorite to come out of the West and win next year’s title… Currently constructed, this is the best team in basketball.”

And they certainly look stacked on paper. But can they go the distance?
