We might be seeing a new rivalry start in the NBA at the same time that a new friendship grows. Boban Marjanovic is now part of the Houston Rockets after spending the last three years with the Dallas Mavericks. The Serbian big man was included in the trade that sent Christian Wood to Dallas and now is ready to help the young Rockets team achieve some success while their young players develop their game.

People in Houston are already embracing Boban, and one of his new teammates has taken things to the next level. Tari Eason is yet to make his official debut in the league, but he’s already making noise around the association, especially with his young but deep bond with Boban.

The Houston Rockets recently shared a video showing Eason and Marjanovic having a good time together and Eason saying that he’s now best friends with Boban.

Tari Eason Self-Proclaims Boban Marjanovic’s New Best Friend

While shaking Boban’s hand, Eason made a bold claim, saying he’s best friend with the Serbian and taking a cheeky dig at Philadelphia 76ers’ Tobias Harris.

“This is my guard, right here. Best friend from now on. No more… No more Tobias. Just you and me now,” Eason said while Boban laughed.

It didn’t take long for Harris to react to this and ask what was been said between the Rockets rookie and the veteran.

“Say what?” he said, using a gif of comedian Kevin Hart.

It’s not a secret that Harris and Marjanovic have been pretty close and have an incredible friendship. Many people felt bad when they were separated after the Sixers completed a trade with the Dallas Mavericks.

Recently, when Harris announced he was getting married to his best friend, a lot of people assumed he was tying the knot with Boban, but he clarified the Serbian wouldn’t be his wife. Perhaps Eason’s words will create some rift with Harris, but we’ll have to wait until the new NBA season begins and the Rockets and Sixers clash.
