The Memphis Grizzlies have a Coach of the Year candidate on their bench in Taylor Jenkins, who has expertly overseen the development of his young team and helped them have the second-best record in the league this season. While he is facing a playoff challenge against the Minnesota Timberwolves, nothing can be taken away from the great job he has done.

However, he still doesn’t want the Timberwolves to leave a bad taste in their mouth and pull off a 2-7 upset to beat Memphis. The series is currently tied at two apiece with the Timberwolves winning Game 4 by one point. Memphis attempted just 25 free throws on the night to Minnesota’s 40.

The free throw disparity got Grizzlies coach Jenkins heated who went in on the poor officiating in his post-game comments…

“In my opinion, one of the most poorly officiated games I’ve ever seen in my NBA career. All five of our starters are borderline fouled out in the first quarter.”

“I’ve never seen a more inconsistent, arrogant officiated game,” Jenkins said. “It’s embarrassing. I’m at a loss for words. I’m not going to go as far as saying that’s the reason we lost, but I’m going to let it be known that’s messed up.”

The Grizzlies are in possession of a home-court advantage and will see the series go back to Memphis for Game 5. However, it will be interesting to see this series play out considering how close it has been. It’s unfortunate that Memphis couldn’t make it 3-1 going home, but they’ll be ready to take the 3-2 advantage.

Timberwolves won’t lie down easy, so this is going to be a fun matchup. Minnesota can finish the series off in 6 games at home if they can win the next two games, but it won’t be easy considering the strength Memphis has shown all season.
