The Boston Celtics are putting together a good retirement ceremony to one of the cornerstones of their most recent NBA championship. Kevin Garnett was part of that incredible Big 3 that won it all in 2008 when he joined the C’s in a trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen teamed up, creating a terrific squad that won the NBA championship in their first season together. Even though they only won that championship, the trio left a lot of good memories.

Sadly, their breakup wasn’t friendly, as Allen decided to join the Miami Heat, the C’s’ archrivals at the time, earning a lot of hate and criticism from the Celtics fanbase. Kevin Garnett was hurt by those actions, beefing with Allen until recent times.

Fortunately, we could see them reuniting at the NBA top 75 ceremony in Cleveland last month. Paul Pierce shared a pic with the sharpshooter and the big man, showing they all were on the best terms.

Moreover, the Celtics are trying to make more memories with these three at the TD Garden. Gary Washburne of The Boston Globe reports that Ray Allen has been invited to Sunday’s ceremony, as they attempt to reunite the team that won the 2008 NBA championship.

A lot was said about this feud over the years, but it’s good to see that Allen and Garnett have finally squashed their beef and are ready to recover their friendship. KG will be honored for his contributions to the Celtics and it would have been odd if somebody that helped him achieve the biggest goal of his career wasn’t there.

This ceremony will draw more attention now that Allen has been invited. It’ll be great to see the Celtics Big 3 reunited again.
