The Moment LeBron James Took Things Personally In The 2016 Finals

During the 2016 NBA Finals, LeBron James demonstrated you don’t have to mess with him. LeBron did the unthinkable and took the Cleveland Cavaliers to do the impossible, coming back from a 3-1 deficit in that memorable series against the Golden State Warriors. Right after the Warriors went up 3-1, LeBron heard some comments made by Klay Thompson that woke up the killer inside him.

During the postgame press conference that followed Game 4 of the series, Jordan channeled his inner Michael Jordan and ‘took things personally’ when one reporter told him something about Klay Thompson. LeBron firstly didn’t hear the comment, but he asked the reporter once again; the response obviously changed something for Bron.

“Klay said, ‘I guess he just got his feelings hurt,'” the reporter told LeBron.

The King laughed a little and that’s when everything changed for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Following that, LeBron and his team went to win three straight games, doing something that no other team had been able to do in the Finals. LeBron would score 41 points in Game 5 and Game 6 to tie the series. He was a beast on both ends of the floor, blocking shots, making big plays, scoring, assisting, rebounding. He did it all.

In the final game, he recorded a triple-double, scoring 27 points, dishing 11 assists and grabbing 11 rebounds. The King did a terrific job during that series; the Warriors didn’t have a response for him and then he ultimately was awarded the Finals MVP for his good performances in the Finals. That moment changed the course of the series and LeBron did take things personally, destroying the Warriors in the next three games.
