Trae Young Ends The New York Knicks With A Simple Tweet: “Goodnight New York”

2 Min Read

Trae Young became the villain of the New York Knicks’ Cinderella story, killing the New Yorkers’ chances to force a Game 6 in their first-round playoffs series. The Atlanta Hawks point guard put up a show in the Garden. He recorded three straight 30-point games in the world’s most famous arena, joining Michael Jordan as the only two players to pull off this feat.

He was great on and off the court, taunting the Knicks and their fans. During the game, he took a bow to say ‘goodbye’ to the fans who insulted and spit on him. This man wanted all that smoke and even after the game, Young had something to say to the Knicks and the city of New York.

He took to Twitter to send a simple but painful message, sending the city to sleep just like his Hawks did with the Knicks.

“Goodnight New York,” Young tweeted with a video of his bow to the MSG crowd.

Asked about the bow and what led him to do that, Young said it was a tradition in the city, which he followed.

“I know where we are. I know it’s a bunch of shows around this city. And I know what they do when the show is over.”

Trae’s career is already starting but he’ll have more chances to troll the Knicks and make this rivalry one to enjoy, just like Reggie Miller or Michael Jordan did in the 90s.

The Hawks face the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference semifinals, with Young hoping to have a similar or better performance against Joel Embiid and co. than he had against the Knickerbockers.
