Point guard Trae Young is one of the best offensive players in the league, and there is no doubt that many respect his talent. However, many people also dislike him because they perceive him as a “villain” figure.

When speaking on The Draymond Green Show recently, Trae Young got real on playing the “villain role” in the league. He noted that he only feeds off the crowd and is trying to win.

“S**t ain’t really fun being a villain. I don’t dive into that. I kind of feed off the crowd. If you were listening to the game, 10 minutes left in the quarter of Game 1, the whole arena was yelling “F*** Trae Young”. What do you want me to do? I’m just hooping. I’m playing. I ain’t say nothing to the crowd… I come out playing, trying to win, trying to put on a show… I really just feed off of the crowd.”

There is no doubt that a lot of players use the crowd’s energy as motivation to play better, and it definitely works for Trae Young. The goal is to win by any means necessary, and if feeding off the crowd helps Young, then he should continue doing it.

There is no doubt that Trae Young has the potential to be one of the next superstars in the league, and he averaged 26.2 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 10.2 APG during the 2022-23 regular season for the Atlanta Hawks. Hopefully, he can build on this season, and his best years are yet to come.

Trae Young Thinks He And Luka Doncic Do Similar Things On The Basketball Court

Trae Young is only 24 right now, and he has already made the Eastern Conference Finals. He has often been compared to superstar Luka Doncic, and he recently claimed that the two do similar things on the court.

“To be honest with you, I have no hate towards nobody, especially Luka. We talk all the time, we got a lot of love for each other, a lot of respect for each other. There’s different agendas. The way people look at certain people is different. I don’t get caught up into it. I feel like eventually, people are going to understand what it is and realize it’s not that far off. We kind of do the same things. We’re different in size but, he can play like I can play… We can both hoop. So, at the same time, that’s just what it is.”

Hopefully, we see Trae Young get more respect from the public in the future. He is clearly a talented player, and at this point, the only thing that prevents people from recognizing his talent is his lack of team success in the regular season.
