This has been a rough season for the Chicago Bulls. Not long after assembling their ‘big three,’ the team is considering a total rebuild as they sit 10th in the East with no clear path to contention.
Still, it’s not all bad in Chicago right now. The Bulls have been showing some signs of life recently, and, more importantly, their starting point guard is finally making some progress on his return to action.
As seen in a video this week, Ball is back on the court and is even throwing down some warmup dunks.

The 6-second clip might not seem like much to some fans, but it’s significant progress compared to where Lonzo has been up to this point.
Why Has Ball Been Out For So Long?
After suffering a meniscus tear in his left knee, ‘Zo was supposed to be ready to play by the start of this season. But, for whatever reason, the pain never truly subsided, and it slowed his recovery.
Lonzo revealed last month that he couldn’t run or jump and that he even had pain when climbing the stairs. It is just a sad situation but his father LaVar Ball gave a promising update on Lonzo recently.
“They finally got in there and they did his stuff right,” said Ball’s father, LaVar. “Some of the debris was caught up with a nerve or something like that in his leg. It wouldn’t allow him to bend it or whatever. He was having much pain but he got all that situated now and like I explained to him, I just came back from seeing my boy to make sure he’s good, stitches is out, ‘Hey, don’t let these guys try to convince you to come back in four-to-six weeks.’ … Slow down. Do it your way, Zo, and come back healthy as hell.”
There was a point where Lonzo couldn’t even climb the stairs without feeling pain, so to see him back on the court and moving like a ball player is great news.
Hopefully, he’s able to come back in time to help the Bulls make a run for the postseason. While they’d be massive underdogs against a team like Boston or Milwaukee, the Bulls have proven to be scary when healthy.
