Injuries are the worst aspect of professional sports, they are what ultimately kill many promising careers. Several talented players come into the NBA year after year, and many miss out on having the careers they dream of through no fault of their own. Playing at the highest level takes its toll on the human body, and often players just find themselves unable to shake injuries.

Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis are prime examples of this in the current era. Both are NBA champions, but their legacy is getting messed up thanks to recurring injuries that continue to keep them sidelined. And another young star that came into the league with a lot of hype is now seemingly suffering worse than most other players. Lonzo Ball’s knee injury sounds worse with every update, and the Bulls recently revealed that he would have to get another surgery done.

“Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball will undergo an arthroscopic debridement of his left knee on Wednesday, Sept. 28 in Los Angeles. He will be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks.”

And while speculation has continued for a long time about when Ball might return to the court, the man himself has finally spoken out. And if Bulls fans were hoping for some optimism, they will be sorely disappointed by the situation at hand.

Lonzo Ball Reveals He Can’t Run Or Jump And His Injury Is Affecting His Daily Life Outside Of Basketball

Lonzo suffered an initial knee injury in January and his absence cost the Bulls quite a few wins. It was expected that he would return sooner rather than later, but now it seems there is no concrete date for it. And Ball himself is saying things that are causes for concern, his injury sounds like a terrible ordeal.

"This is something I've never dealt with. Even the doctors are surprised a little bit."

“Lonzo Ball said he still can’t run or jump and even has pain in his knee climbing the stairs. ‘This is something I’ve never dealt with. Even the doctors are surprised a little bit.'”

This is a very concerning update. It’s not just the injury itself that’s the issue, it’s the time that this will take Ball to recover from in terms of getting back into game shape. Lonzo isn’t able to engage in any basketball activities at the moment, and there seems to be no end in sight. Hopefully, his latest surgery will help him get on the path to recovery. The league is a much better place with a healthy Lonzo available.
