Joel Embiid has earned a well-deserved break in this offseason after all he had to go through during this past postseason. Embiid battled through various injuries to get back on the court during the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and while he was nowhere near his best, he should be applauded for still wanting to be out there for his team.

After putting in all that effort, he is evidently having a blast in his time off, as he should. Embiid was previously spotted partying with PJ Tucker, James Harden, and Tyrese Maxey, and he now went viral for joining in on the Hora dance at a wedding.

It was easy to spot the 7-footer from that crowd as a visibly excited Embiid performed the circle dance, which is a tradition in Jewish weddings. The rest of the attendees even somehow managed to lift him in the air on his chair, which must have taken some doing.

The big man was in attendance as it was the wedding of his good friend Michael Ratner, who is a filmmaker. The two have known each other for a long time now, and Ratner even worked with him for a documentary back in 2016, which was to detail Embiid’s journey from Cameroon to the NBA.

Embiid has a lot of reasons to celebrate right now, as things seem to be going great for him. He wanted the Sixers to sign PJ Tucker in the offseason, and they did just that, while James Harden also showed his commitment to winning by being willing to take a major pay cut.

The Tucker signing might leave them in some trouble with the league for tampering, but at worst, they’ll be losing a second-round pick for that offense. It is all set up to be a great 2022-23 for the Sixers, but Embiid will know better than anyone else how things have seemingly always gone wrong at the end during his time with them. Here’s hoping for his sake that he will be celebrating like he was at this wedding come June 2023.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
