Kevin Durant is one of the top superstars in the NBA, and there are many people that believe he is the best player in the world. Kevin Durant’s shot creation is elite, and he showed that he can still score as well as ever during both the regular season and the playoffs. Having the ability to score on every defender is extremely valuable. Durant’s comeback from his injury has been spectacular, and he looks ready to dominate the league.

Vince Carter has recently spoken on who should be viewed as the No. 1 player on ESPN’s NBA rank, and by extension the best player in the league. Carter stated that one could go with either LeBron James or Kevin Durant, but added that Kevin Durant “is ready to take over the league”.

There is no doubt that there is an argument for both players to be called the best player in the league. LeBron James has been playing at a superstar level for quite some time, and he is definitely a top-tier player. However, as Vince Carter mentions, Kevin Durant has had a great run at the Olympics and led the United States basketball team to a gold medal. It is likely that Kevin Durant will continue playing at an MVP level, and it’s easy to see why Vince Carter believes Kevin Durant can “take over the league”.

Kevin Durant is a two-time NBA champion and an MVP. If he were to retire today he’d be a lock for the Hall of Fame. However, Durant isn’t done yet, and he can continue building his legacy for the next few years. Stephen A. Smith once stated that Kevin Durant is the greatest player in the history of New York, and if he wins a championship with the Brooklyn Nets, perhaps a lot more people will feel that way.
