Is Anthony Edwards the future of the Golden State Warriors? According to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle, the franchise certainly seems to think so, as they consider who to do with their No. 2 overall pick this offseason.
“The Warriors are believed to view Edwards as someone who can blossom into a face of a franchise and multi-time All-Star if put in the right situation. According to league sources, Golden State would likely take Edwards at No. 2 should Minnesota pass on him at No. 1,” Letourneau reports.

Steph Curry, who turns 33 in March, is obviously the Warriors’ superstar, but one has to wonder how long he will continue to dominate the NBA. With a slightly concerning injury history and a clock that keeps on ticking, it might be about time for the Dubs to consider their future, and Edwards seems to be grabbing their attention.
A freshman in Georgia, Anthony Edwards has impressed scouts with his scoring ability. In 2019-20, he averaged 19 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 40.2% shooting. The 6-5 guard shot 29.4% from the 3-point line.
Obviously, Edwards doesn’t fit with the current trajectory of their core of stars, but he can carry them in the future if he develops his game and stays committed to working on his craft.
