Kobe Bryant is one of the greatest players of all time. Bryant dominated the league for 20 years and had an incredible run playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. Bryant was a feared player during his NBA career, and he was given an accurate nickname – The Black Mamba. But ESPN took his nickname too literally.

During a segment where they were talking about Kobe Bryant, ESPN put up a comparison graphic to compare Kobe Bryant with an actual black mamba snake. They compared them on the basis of their species, size, weight, diet, and lifespan. ESPN was clearly having a lot of fun with this graphic.

Bryant was given the nickname of Black Mamba because he was ruthless and dangerous on the court, taking no mercy on his opponents, and always going for the kill. And while ESPN was a little too literate with that interpretation, they did entertain a lot of fans with this comparison.

Kobe Bryant’s Mamba Mentality Hasn’t Been Seen Since He Left The League

Kobe Bryant’s killer mentality was often dubbed his ‘Mamba Mentality’ due to his nickname. Kobe was so driven on the court that no one would be able to stop him when he had his eyes set on winning. Bryant was obsessed with winning and did everything he could to make sure he could win every game.

Many have claimed that Bryant’s mentality was elite, with no one being able to unnerve the five-time NBA champion when he was focused on his goal.

Bryant will be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time, someone who could strike fear in his opponents when he took to the court. And there will never be another player like him.
