  • Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard have played less than 700 games in their careers
  • Kevin Durant has played 986 games over 15 years
  • Anthony Davis has surprisingly been consistent in the last three seasons

Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, and Kevin Durant have remained some of the top players in the NBA over the last decade or so. But one thing is common between the three superstars–they have missed a lot of games in recent years.

All three superstars have been labeled as injury-prone superstars, despite their numbers in the NBA. Even among them, Davis is usually criticized for being the player who misses most games for players.

However, in the last three seasons, Anthony Davis has played more games than Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. But what about their careers? Let’s take a look at a detailed comparison between Davis, Leonard, and Durant featuring how many games they have missed in their respective careers.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis Shares Details On Groin Injury In Loss To Heat

NBA Career: 2012-Present (11 Seasons)

Total Games Played: 660 Played Out Of 902 Games (73.1%)

Anthony Davis was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2012 NBA Draft. Davis has averaged 24.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

But throughout his 11-year career in the NBA, Davis has featured in 73.1% of the total games. Moreover, since joining the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the 2019-20 NBA season, Davis has managed to play more than 60 games just once.

He has appeared in a combined 194 games over four seasons, starting 192 games. In his most recent season, Davis averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. Davis featured in 56 games for the 2022-23 season, his most since his debut season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

AD won an NBA Championship in the 2019-20 season, but since then, he has barely been healthy enough to be a valuable addition for the Los Angeles Lakers. Hopefully, Davis can change that in the 2023-24 season, at least that’s what the organization will hope.

Kawhi Leonard

Who Has Missed The Most Games Between Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, And Kevin Durant In Their NBA Careers

NBA Career: 2011-Present (11 Seasons)

Total Games Played: 628 Played Out Of 984 Games (63.8%)

Kawhi Leonard has remained one of the best two-way players in the NBA throughout his career. Leonard was the 15th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. Evidently, he wasn’t expected to become a huge star in the league. But Leonard has proven his doubters wrong throughout his career.

He is a 2x NBA Champion, 2x NBA Finals MVP, 2x NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 5x All-NBA, 7x NBA All-Defensive, and 5x NBA All-Star. For his career, he has averaged 19.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.

But he has played more than 65 games in his career just once. That’s certainly underwhelming for a player who will make $45.6 million for the 2023-24 NBA season. Leonard also missed the entire 2021-22 season due to an ACL injury.

Since joining the Los Angeles Clippers ahead of the 2019-20 NBA season, Leonard has struggled to stay healthy. As a result, he hasn’t been able to deliver an NBA Championship to the organization. If Leonard fails to win a ring with the Clippers next season, his legacy in the NBA will take a severe hit.

Kevin Durant

Former Nets Teammate Thinks Kevin Durant Could Play In The EuroLeague At The End Of His Career

NBA Career: 2007-Present (15 Seasons)

Total Games Played: 986 Played Out Of 1,230 Games (80.1%)

Kevin Durant was drafted as the second overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. Durant was one of the most consistent players in the NBA for the first seven seasons of his career. He was available for the Seattle Supersonics/Oklahoma City Thunder for most games.

But Durant played 27 games in the 2014-15 season. Durant bounced back for a couple of seasons, but since his injury in the 2019 NBA Finals, he lost that flair. KD missed the entire 2019-20 season due to an Achilles injury. Since then he hasn’t played more than 55 games in a season.

For the 2022-23 season, Durant appeared in 47 games averaging 29.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game. As for his career, KD has maintained an average of 27.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game.

Durant has undoubtedly been a great player in his career, but the 34-year-old hasn’t been able to stay healthy for the past five years or so. Hopefully, he can stay healthy for the 2023-24 season and lead the Phoenix Suns to an NBA Championship.

Kevin Durant Is By Far The Healthiest Player In His NBA Career

As we mentioned earlier, Durant has featured in 80.1% of his total career games. It’s undoubtedly better than Davis and Leonard. If we take out Durant’s recent seasons out of consideration, he has been a pretty consistent player.

But at the end of the day, KD needs to be more available right now. Speaking of which, Anthony Davis is the healthiest player among the three superstars.

Will anyone from Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, or Kevin Durant win an NBA Championship in the 2023-24 season? We will get an idea of it in the coming months. Until then, Durant remains the most available player from the lot.
