  • Wilt Chamberlain’s dominance wasn’t just seen at games, but also in practice
  • Chamberlain made 3 three-point hook shots during a Lakers practice session
  • His teammate John Trapp bet him that he couldn’t make a 4th hook shot, a bet Wilt took and won

Wilt Chamberlain was an anomaly of a basketball player. Chamberlain’s incredible size, speed, and strength were a massive problem for players to counteract. But on top of that, Chamberlain was skilled beyond belief, and he was able to use that skill to become one of the greatest of all time.

During a practice session in 1972 with the Los Angeles Lakers, Wilt Chamberlain was able to make three consecutive hook shots from the three-point line. His teammate, John Trapp made a $5 bet with him that he couldn’t make a fourth hook shot from the three-point line, which Wilt accepted, and then easily made the shot.

Chamberlain’s incredible confidence in his skill, even at the tail end of his career, was truly incredible. He knew what he was capable of doing, and was not afraid to bet on himself in any situation.

Wilt Chamberlain Was Perhaps The Most Dominant Player Ever

Chamberlain had immense confidence in himself throughout his career.

Even before he entered the NBA, Chamberlain, at the behest of legendary head coach Red Auerbach, dominated a 1-on-1 game against the best college player in the US, which led to the player leaving basketball and becoming a tractor engineer.

Wilt Chamberlain was absolutely incredible during his playing career. Playing for the 76ers, Warriors, and the Lakers, Chamberlain found an insane amount of success, with multiple records set and championships won over his legendary career.

During his career, Chamberlain averaged 30.1 points, 22.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists of his career, including scoring 100 points in a single game, the record for the most points in a single game.

He also won a Rookie of the Year trophy, 4 MVPs, 2 NBA championships, and a Finals MVP during his incredible career.
