Zion Williamson is out of action right now, but he keeps making moves that make fans dream about his return to the court. The New Orleans Pelicans’ young star has been inactive since last season, and many rumors about his return have surfaced recently. However, nothing is certain regarding Zion’s immediate future.
On the other hand, the former No. 1 overall pick keeps making moves off the court, and he’s set to release a brand new collab between Air Jordan and Naruto, one of the most famous animes in the world and Zion’s favorite growing up.
Over the past couple of days, Williamson and the people involved in the design and creation of the shoes have teased the collab, which is about to be here.
Jordan Brand’s Instagram account shared a video announcing the collection with some words from the former Duke player. Zion says that growing up, Michael Jordan and Naruto were two of his favorites and it’s a dream to be able to work with both brands to create the collection.
“Two of my childhood favorites — Michael Jordan and then Naruto. Both were able to collaborate and bring my vision to life. You can’t make this stuff up. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
It’s become normal to see players teaming up with brands from another niche to create some incredible apparel. Not so long ago, LaMelo Ball released a Rick and Morty collection with Puma, Giannis Antetokounmpo recently teamed up with UNO, and more.
Now Zion is bringing together two of his favorite things growing up, trying to connect with many people around the world that surely shared the same passions as the Pelicans player.
It’s unclear if he could make his return to the court this season, but seeing how well the Pelicans have played in the postseason, adding Zion to this core will certainly take them to the next level.
