A 19-Year Old Graphic Designer Made Amazing 2K21 Covers That Could Be Better Than Original Covers With Dame & Zion

2 Min Read

One of the most exciting parts about the annual NBA 2k release is finding out who is going to grace its cover. Last year, it featured Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade. This year, there are three cover athletes that include Damian Lillard, Zion Williamson, and Kobe Bryant. They picked a good group of stars and the design of the cover for each looks pretty dope.

Of course, like every year, there was some argument about whether or not 2k picked the right players. Many though Ja Morant or Luka Doncic should have been featured instead of Zion of even Lillard. Obviously 2k won’t change things now, but one graphic designer was able to make those visions come to life with some edits he did that featured Morant, Doncic, and Kobe.

The look and feel of each cover is specialized for each player. They all feature words, moments, and “snapshots” of their achievements and career as basketball players.

In Kobe’s case, the artist put phrases like “We love you Kobe” and “Mamba Out edition” that gave it more of a somber, memorialized feel than the actual game cover. Many, including me, prefer this look over what we’re actually getting.

No matter which one you prefer, though, this is awesome work by PerrionGfx and maybe 2k should give him a ring for input on next year’s design.
