Fadeaway World

There has been a lot of speculation regarding Anthony Davis’ future and a potential team up with LeBron James, who hasn’t hesitated a second to start recruiting him already even despite the league’s anti-tampering policy.

Either way, it all points towards Anthony Davis either joining LeBron and the Lakers or staying put at New Orleans, something that would take a major toll on his actual chances of winning an NBA Championship.

Over here, we actually believe that he’s got to choose the Lakers, but now that we see that he needs to be convinced, we’re going to give him all the reasons why he shouldn’t hesitate and just become a Laker.

He Just Bought a New House in LA

If Davis wouldn’t be even slightly interested in joining the Los Angeles Lakers, why buy a new house in Los Angeles at the time? Also, life in LA should be really enticing for a young and rich man.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Anthony Davis has purchased a $7.5 million home in the Westlake Village area of Los Angeles County.

As LeBron said himself, nobody ever wanted to go to Cleveland, but convincing a guy to leave his town and live in Los Angeles shouldn’t take much time, especially if he already owns a place.

Roster

The Los Angeles Lakers have a very promising roster, and even though some of those young prospects may have to leave in order for him to arrive, their core will still be much better than his current teammates.

The Pelicans have a solid team, but they’re just not as good as the Lakers. He already thrived next to Rajon Rondo, while Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, and Lonzo Ball all look like studs in the making.

Lakers need to trade some of their young players for Anthony Davis, and at this moment the best trade package could be Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and the future Draft picks.

He Will Play With LeBron

Fadeaway World

Besides all the great players aforementioned, we forgot to name some guy called LeBron James, arguably the best player in the world and by far the best player of his generation, an easy ticket to the NBA Finals.

Teaming up with LeBron pretty much guarantees you a deep playoff run, let alone the fact that both of them as a frontcourt duo would be pretty much unstoppable regardless of how many players opposing teams stack the paint with.

Don’t forget that Anthony Davis says LeBron James was his favorite players growing up.

He Could Win Multiple Titles

The Los Angeles Lakers already look like Championship contenders amid LeBron’s arrival, and that’s only going to get better as soon as the young studs keep improving and other teams like the Warriors head towards the exit.

Davis is just entering his prime and, barring injury, he’s going to be one of the best players in the league for years. Also, with LA’s winning culture, he could lure more All-Stars to try and win multiple titles at the Staples.

He Would Be The Next Lakers Legendary Big Man

The Los Angeles Lakers have a long-lived tradition of elite big men. Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal, and even Dwight Howard are just a few of those, and he has the opportunity to become their next legend.

Also, he’s still going to be in his prime when LeBron’s career comes to an end, so he’s going to have the chance and the responsibility to carry his torch as the team’s franchise player for many years to come.

Legacy Over Money

Well, money’s actually the one reason why Davis could choose to stay with the Pelicans, as not much people could turn down a 239+ million dollar contract. Still, he already said that he’d take legacy over money any time.

Unfortunately, for the New Orleans Pelicans, they find themselves in the latter with Anthony Davis.

“According to a source with knowledge of Davis’ thinking,” writes The Athletic’s Sam Amick, “he does not see the extra $87.3 million that New Orleans is expected to offer in a five-year $239.5 million supermax extension this summer as a factor in his eventual decision.”

Davis could become the Pelicans’ ultimate legend should he decide to stay, but that would also mean that he’s never going to win a Championship and even maybe an MVP. So, go for it, Davis, wearing the purple and gold. It’s now or never.
