Somehow, at 35-years-old, LeBron James is having a career year. With season averages of 26 points, 8.3 rebounds, and a career-high 11 assists per game on 48% shooting, LeBron has led the Lakers to the top of the standings with a 7-1 record.
How does he do it?
In a post-game chat following his win over the Heat, James finally revealed his secret to staying dominant at such an advanced age.
Jokingly, he says wine is the secret to his success, crediting that it “ages well.”
But on a more serious note, we probably already have an idea as to how he is able to keep up his performance. Every year, James spends millions on his body, and spends hours conditioning and strengthening himself throughout the season. It’s why James is able to stay away from injury, and also how he keeps up his impressive production on the court.
This season alone, he is proving once again to be capable of postponing Father Time. And while we have no idea how long he will be able to pull this off, we shouldn’t count him out until we’re sure his time is up. He doesn’t intend it to be anytime soon.
He is aging like fine wine, after all.
