Dennis Rodman Says The Chicago Bulls Wouldn’t Have Won A Championship Without Him

Love him or hate him, there is no doubt that Dennis Rodman was extremely helpful for the Chicago Bulls during their second three-peat in the NBA. After spending the first years of his career with the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs, Rodman landed in Chicago, ready to succeed alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

The third episode of ‘The Last Dance’ documentary was centered around Rodman and his time with the Bulls. Truth to his style, he made a bold claim about him and Chicago, saying the team wouldn’t have won a title without him, even though they had Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan on the roster.

“You know you got the great Michael Jordan, the great Scottie Pippen, the great Phil Jackson, but if you take me away from this team, do they still win a championship? I don’t think so,” Rodman said in “The Last Dance.”

The Worm really did a great job in the Windy City. He was one of the best defenders in the league, became the greatest rebounder the NBA has seen, making Jordan and Pippen’s job a lot easier. He led the league in rebounds in the three years he spent with the Bulls, making it 7 years leading that item.

Nobody has the answer to what would have happened if Rodman didn’t join the Bulls in 1995, but there is no doubt that his contribution to the team was immeasurable.
