In 2018, NBA Fan Tweeted: Imagine Thinking Trae Young And Luka Doncic Are Legit Top 5 Prospects

Predicting how young NBA players are going to turn out is as tough as it gets. You can make projections based on their physical traits and skills but more often than not, a player who’s supposed to be a star ends up underachieving, while others prove their critics wrong.

The class of 2018 has proven to have a couple of impressive talents but it didn’t seem as clear back in the day. In fact, there were plenty of people who slept on prospects like Trae Young and Luka Doncic.

In fact, Twitter user @RUSTYBUCKETS321 fired a hot take in 2018, making fun of the people who thought that Young and Doncic were legit top 5 prospects. Needless to say, that take didn’t age well at all.

Imagine thinking trae young and luka doncic are legit top 5 prospects 😂😂😂

The Twitter user, who happens to have 100+K subscribers on his YouTube channel, has been constantly exposed and made fun of for this tweet, given the fact that Young and Doncic made the All-Star Game in just their second season and it’s clear that they’re building blocks for their franchises.

Youn still has to put a lot of work in the defensive end and take better care of the ball but he’s already one of the most unstoppable scorers in the world. Doncic, on the other hand, has a better supporting cast around him but he already led the Mavericks to the playoffs and was a legit MVP candidate for at least half of the season.

Then again, as we mentioned before, you never know how a player is going to turn out. There are countless intangibles that help a player make an impact or not. And, to be fair, even though a lot of people knew they were special, no one ever thought they’d be that great that fast.
