NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Have The Best Package For Giannis Antetokounmpo

2 Min Read

In a recent appearance on 95.7 The Game’s Damon, Ratto & Kolsky show, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne made a shocking statement regarding the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes.

When asked about which team was poised to make the best offer for the young star, she named the 6x Champs in San Francisco.

“From where I’m sitting guys, that’s the Warriors.”

“They have the best package. People get so upset when I say that, but they do. They have the trade exception, they have (Andrew) Wiggins, they have this year’s pick (No. 2 overall), they have next year’s Minnesota pick (top-three protected in 2021, unprotected in 2022). Maybe you even have to talk about Klay Thompson or Draymond (Green) being in a package like that, too. But they have a great package if it comes down to it.”

With Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and aa mount of picks, the Warriors have a lot of assets to work within a potential trade. And while trading away two future Hall-of-Famers is no small price to pay, it may be worth the gamble for a player as game-changing as the Greek Freak.

As the back-to-back reigning MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the game with career averages of 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game on 55% shooting.

Alongside 2x MVP Steph Curry, the Warriors would have a powerful, unstoppable duo to last the ages.

Like it or not, if Giannis does become available on the trade market, the Dubs would be in a good position to make a move.
