Joel Embiid On The LeBron Flagrant: “You Look At It, That’s A Very Dangerous Play, And I Guarantee If It Was Me I Would Have Probably Been Ejected From The Game.”

The Philadelphia 76ers took down the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night in a game between probably the two best teams in the NBA at this moment. The #1 in the East host the #1 in the West and the game was pretty good, with both teams fighting to get the win until Tobias Harris decided to put the definite scoreboard with 2.7 seconds on the clock.

That wasn’t the biggest or most curious part of the game, which was very entertaining and it wasn’t safe from controversies. At some point in the 3rd quarter, LeBron James and Joel Embiid starred in a very polemic play where LeBron committed a flagrant foul on Embiid that could have been very bad for the Cameroonian player.

After the game, Embiid talked about that play, claiming that LeBron was judged differently than he would have if he made the same foul on the King. JoJo considered that such play was deserving of an ejection that never arrived for the Lakers superstar.

“You look at it, that’s a very dangerous play,” said Embiid, via Ky Carlin of USA Today Sports. “I guarantee you that if it was me, I would have probably been ejected from the game, which has happened in the past with me getting flagrant fouls, really for nothing.”

Embiid was also granted a flagrant foul on Anthony Davis and he stated that his foul wasn’t even as dangerous as LeBron’s but the officials still called the T on him. This game had everything, including some back and forth from players during and after the match.

“When you compare that to the one that I got, which I thought I didn’t really hit him,” Embiid said. “I didn’t really elbow him, I might have touched him, but I don’t think it was a flagrant if you can compare those two. Those are tough plays and I just thought it should have been a flagrant 2.”

The Sixers had the last laugh with a 107-106 win that keeps them atop of the Eastern Conference standings this season. This can be an NBA Finals matchup and we already saw that it can be pretty interesting both on and off the court.
