Kendrick Perkins On Boston Celtics: “I Don’t Know If This Celtics Team Can Make It Out Of The First Round, To Be Honest.”

2 Min Read

For a team that has two All-Stars this season, the Boston Celtics have been fairly disappointing. They currently have a 15-16 record in the Eastern Conference. For a team that was slated to be a championship contender at the start of the season, this is a disappointing record to have towards the middle of the season. The Boston Celtics have the talent: but they clearly need to improve as a unit.

One of the vocal critics of the Boston Celtics has been Kendrick Perkins. Kendrick Perkins was part of the last Boston championship squad in 2008, so he knows a thing or two about a winning environment. Kendrick Perkins didn’t hold back on his criticism of the Celtics:

We’re looking at this Celtics team the way it’s currently constructed and we think this is a team that could possibly win this year’s Eastern Conference, and make it to the Finals? We’re all fooling ourselves. I don’t know if this Celtics team can make it out of the first round to be honest, and thats scary.

The Boston Celtics have been inconsistent, to say the least, and their performance isn’t befitting of the talent that they have on the roster. Kendrick Perkins is right: with the way that the Boston Celtics are playing right now, there is close to no chance they beat the upper echelon teams in the East, such as the Brooklyn Nets or the Philadelphia 76ers. The Boston Celtics need to figure things out quickly before it is too late.
