Breaking: LaMarcus Aldridge Signs One-Year Deal With The Brooklyn Nets

1 Min Read

14-year NBA veteran LaMarcus Aldridge is officially headed to Brooklyn after reaching a buyout with the Spurs. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, he is set to ink a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum.

This was a move that blind-sighted most of the NBA.

After years of playing competitive basketball, rumors indicated that Aldridge was leaning heavily towards signing with the Miami Heat, a team he could have pushed past the cusp of title contention.

Instead, he joined the Nets, a super squad with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Blake Griffin. With those four, Aldridge’s arrival only helps to make the situation bleaker for the rest of the NBA.

Aldridge, 35, is a talented and experienced veteran who brings rebounding and mid-range shooting to an already stacked frontcourt.

In case you had any doubt about the Net’s odds this season, the Aldridge acquisition should put it to rest. At this point, any team beating them in a seven-game series would be akin to a miracle.
