Stephen Curry On Baron Davis Saying The ‘We Believe’ Team Would Beat The Warriors With KD: “I Expect Nothing Less From BD… He Probably Wouldn’t Be A Good GM If He Thinks That.”

Stephen Curry laughed at Baron Davis’ claims that his ‘We Believe’ Warriors would beat the Kevin Durant-led Warriors, which is a pretty bold statement by the Dubs icon. Davis was part of that magical team that surprised a lot of people in the 2006-07 season, eliminating the #1 seed in the Western Conference, Dallas Mavericks, using the ‘We Believe’ slogan.

BD is very confident that his squad would beat the new-generation Warriors if they played against each other but not everybody thinks the same as him. He recently explained that his team would try to take Durant, Curry, and co. to the biggest level but they would win in a hypothetical seven-game series.

“It’s going to go seven games,” Davis said to Dorrell Wright, via Kendra Andrews.

“They got some firepower. We ain’t gonna fold, though,” he said. “The thing is, we’re not going to try and punk them, you know what I mean? We’re just going to play them hard. We’re not going to bully them, but it’s not gonna be like, y’all are about to blow us out. Everything is going to be mano-a-mano, a confrontation, and hold your man.”

For instance, Stephen Curry laughed when learning about Davis’ beliefs. The point guard said gave his flowers to Davis but made it clear that he wouldn’t have been a good GM with that mindset.

“I expect nothing less from BD … BD was nice. Don’t get me wrong. BD was nice. But he probably wouldn’t be a good GM if he thinks that.”

The We Believe Warriors were really nice and people won’t forget what they did against the Mavericks but Curry and co. revolutionized the game; they were very fun to watch, dominated the league, went to 5 NBA Finals, and won three championships (2 with KD on the roster).

It’s cool that Baron had that confidence in his team but that is just crazy to say. KD, Curry, Klay, and Draymond would be too much to bear for Davis, Monta Ellis, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson, Jason Richardson, and Matt Barnes (who curiously played with both teams).
