The Most Consecutive 30-PT Games In The Last 40 Seasons: James Harden, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry keeps making history in the NBA this season, regardless of the bad games the Golden State Warriors have had, the Chef has kept them afloat and he’s not stopping anytime soon. Curry is on a tear right now and whoever is in front of him will have to try everything to stop him, something that seems highly unlikely for the rest of the NBA right now.

After his 49-point performance on Monday night, Curry recorded his 11th consecutive game scoring 30+ points. He tied Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Jordan with this number but the 2x NBA MVP can increase that number in the following games. ESPN shared a graphic showing where Curry ranks with his 11 games and the players that did this before and more than him.

In the last 40 seasons, James Harden has had the most consecutive games scoring 30+ points, going for 32 games in the 2018/19 season, where a lot of people believed he was the MVP award winner. Following Harden, we can find Kobe Bryant, who did it half of the times than the Beard, in 16 games in the 2002/03 season.

Tracy McGrady with 14, Moses Malone with 13, and Kevin Durant with 12 close the top 5. After that, we can find Shaq, MJ, and Curry all tied with 11 games.

Steph Curry has made 72 threes in his last 10 games.

That is more than Chris Paul, Tobias Harris, Russell Westbrook, Pascal Siakam, Giannis Antetokounmpo or Joel Embiid has made the entire season. pic.twitter.com/qiVLLCDN4P

Steph Curry last 5 games:

49 points, 10 threes
47 points, 11 threes
33 points, 4 threes
42 points, 11 threes
53 points, 10 threes

Steph could now surpass the two legends and tie Kevin Durant with 12 and if he keeps this pace, he could do the same with Malone and T-Mac, getting closer to Kobe’s number, too.

There are only 3 seasons in NBA history in which a player averages 5+ threes per game.

You guessed it.

1. Steph Curry in 2015-16
2. Steph Curry in 2018-19
3. Steph Curry in 2020-21

It’s hard to predict if he will tie or surpass Harden’s record but Steph is playing at a high level right now and that should scare a lot of people around the association. As long as he’s healthy, the Warriors will have a chance to compete against anybody in this campaign.
