LeBron James Gets Flamed By Senator Ted Cruz For Being “Terrified” To Say Anything About China

LeBron James has a lot on his plate. As he juggles with leading a Lakers team to the postseason, he also has the responsibility of being a role model for fans all around the world.

As, perhaps, one of the biggest and well-known athletes in existence, everything the guy does is inspected under a microscope.

Unsurprisingly, James is often at the receiving end of criticism when it relates to politics, and his latest issue involves just that.

As Enes Kanter speaks out against the communist regime over in China, LeBron James has taken a strictly hands-off approach to the situation, seemingly preferring to stay out of it instead of risking financial loss by putting the nation on blast.

On Twitter, Texas Senator Ted Cruz called James out for his silence on China, insisting that he’s terrified of the consequences that such an action would bring.

.@ClayTravis Serious Q: how much $$ is enough?

@KingJames has made hundreds of millions of $$.

But he still wants more, so much that he is TERRIFIED to say anything negative about the evil communist dictators in China. @EnesKanter is showing more courage than the entire @NBA

Back in 2019, he famously said this quote after Daryl Morey tweeted out in support of the Hong Kong protests.

“I think that’s another situation that should stay behind closed doors,” LeBron told the media.

We all talk about this freedom of speech. Yes, we all do have freedom of speech, but at times there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you’re not thinking about others and you’re only thinking about yourself.”

Needless to say, people want James to go the route of Enes Kanater, and speak out publicly against what’s going on over there.

Instead, he has kept his distance from the issue completely, and some appear to have lost respect for him as a result.
