LeBron James may be the NBA’s golden child, but the guy loves himself some football.
In fact, James actually had the opportunity to join an NFL team during the NBA’s lockout season in 2011.
Jerry Jones offered me a contract, also Pete Carroll did as well in Seattle, during our lockout time,” said James. “It definitely got my blood flowing again, it got my mind racing again thinking about the game of football, being out there on Sunday. You know, we was able to get a deal done in the NBA, and I was back on the court in no time. But I definitely thought about it. I still got the jersey too, that Jerry and Pete Carroll sent me from 2011.”
Of course, we know that LeBron never made that jump, and he (very wisely) decided to stick to what he does best.
Still, we often see James show his support for the game of football, especially when it involves the Rams or Chargers.
So when news broke that the Rams would be signing Odell Beckham Jr., one of the best receivers in the sport, it was no surprise that King James was one of the first to welcome him.

Los Angeles isn’t the U.S.’s only big city, but it’s certainly a favorite among athletes. In the NBA especially, players flock to play for the city.
Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and Carmelo Anthony are just some of the names that have been lured to SoCal in recent years — and that’s not even including LeBron James.
Obviously, LeBron is excited to see L.A. add another superstar talent to their lineup, and the Rams may very well be on track for a Super Bowl.
Ass for the Lakers, well, they’ve got a lot of work to do. But so long as they have LeBron, they have a way to stay competitive.
