Charles Oakley Says The Nets Can Still Win The Title If Kyrie Irving Misses Half The Season: “They Still Have Two Of The Top Five Best Players In The League.”

Even as the NBA season approaches, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving continues to fight the vaccine mandates, putting his availability in jeopardy for at least half of the upcoming season.

Obviously, the whole situation has become a major distraction for the organization, but the fallout could be even worse on the basketball court.

Still, even as Kyrie’s resistance rages on, there are those who still believe in the Nets — and former NBA legend Charles Oakley is one of them.

In a chat with TMZ, the former Knicks star spoke about the current situation in Brooklyn, and how he still thinks the team can win it all even if Irving misses a significant chunk of time.

“He losses money but it’s up to his teammates. I still think they can win it with him playing this way. You still have James Harden and KD, two of the top five players in the league. So, add him on the roll and it’d be a plus but they weren’t healthy last year. So you think if James Harden come back healthy this year with KD healthy — they can still win it even if Kyrie only players half of the season.”

A guy like Irving would be essential for pretty much every team in the league. He’s a bonafide superstar and one of the best offensive players the game has ever seen.

Unfortunately, Uncle Drew’s troubling antics behind closed doors can often overshadow what he does on the court.

Whether it’s boycotting the media, speaking about secret societies, or buying into conspiracy theories about the vaccine, the guy seems to have a knack for drawing attention.

Without James Harden and Kevin Durant, it might prove to be far too much for the franchise to handle. It’s a good thing they’ve got both.
