The Chicago Bulls have come a long way over the past few years. Following a stretch of dysfunction and chaos within the organization, the front office finally got some things right, and it has them in a pretty good position entering the new season.

With Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, DeMar DeRozan, and Coby White, they have a core of very solid guys that could vault them to an Eastern Conference Finals appearance.

Of course, that’s not even mentioning Lonzo Ball, who could be the key to unlocking this team. At 23, Ball still has a lot of growth ahead of him, and he wasn’t always a reliable shooter. But with hard work and experience, he has developed that part of his game, and it should provide a major boost to the Bulls.

“He’s one helluva shooter,” said Zach LaVine. “We had it scouted last year. He was shooting above 40 (% from 3) until he hurt himself at the end of the year. If you’re shooting above 40 on 8 attempts, you’re a really knockdown shooter.”

Not long ago, LaVine also raved about Zo’s passing and playmaking abilities.

“He’s one of the best passers in the game, one of the highest IQ players. He gets up and down the court fast. I don’t see how our games can’t mesh.”

This season, the Bulls will have to face some steep competition. Between the Nets, Bucks, Celtics, and Heat, it will not be an easy task to make a long playoff run this upcoming postseason.

Nevertheless, there is a lot of reason to be optimistic about what is to come for Chicago. With a solid roster, a brilliant coach, and a culture that is finally headed in the right direction, the Bulls are poised to return to a position in the top 8 for the first time in years.
