Luka Doncic has earned his spot among the best players in the NBA, thanks to his incredible performances. In three years in the league, the Slovenian player has only gotten better, although plenty of people doubted him when he first made it to the association.
Analysts and fans didn’t believe he could be good in the league, and some of his peers shared that vision, too. In fact, Kyle Kuzma had some strong things to say about Doncic’s style of play, claiming it wouldn’t work in the league.
In recent hours, Redditor “ArchyMumbles” shared a series of tweets from Kuz and his trainer criticizing Doncic. Back in 2018, Clint Parks went off on Twitter, ‘assessing’ Luka, asking people to slow down on the hype since he looked a little raw for the NBA.

Kuz jumped on that train, too, saying he might be good, but couldn’t be compared to the best point guards in the league, like Kyrie Irving or Damian Lillard.
“No hatin just saying it’s one thing to have great numbers Then it’s another thing to slide your feet against Kyrie or dame,” Kuz tweeted three years ago.
More so talking about the perception of analytics vs actual hooping.

Three years after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, Doncic is one of the best offensive players in the league. He has led the Dallas Mavericks to the playoff in the past two seasons, although the Los Angeles Clippers took care of them in the first round on each occasion.
Still, Luka’s future looks extremely bright, and he’s already part of the elite. In 2018, Kuzma looked ready to blossom into a star, but that didn’t happen. He’s now on the Washington Wizards, trying to get to that level he couldn’t reach while with the Los Angeles Lakers.
These takes didn’t age well, and now the Slovenian guard belongs to the top 10 of the association. At the same time, Kuz is a role player, a lot less than people expected from him.
