Patty Mills spent 10 seasons with the San Antonio Spurs before joining the Brooklyn Nets this season. Mills was a beloved player among both the franchise and the fans. So, without a doubt, it was hard for them to see him leave.
However, when there is an opportunity to play with a player like Kevin Durant, it’s hard to say no. Additionally, the Nets are one of the best teams in the league, so Mills might have taken that into consideration when making his decision to join the Nets.
But it seems like it was Durant’s nature that sealed the deal for Mills. The two stars got close during the Olympics, where Mills famously video bombed when KD was recording himself during the basketball medal ceremony.
“The conversation that I had with Kevin [Durant] was so pure and so genuine, being able to understand that he’s such a pure hooper.”

Considering the two stars got off on the right foot, it was only a matter of time before the deal happened. Mills’ former team, the San Antonio Spurs, is currently focusing on rebuilding.
Patty, 33, is still at the top of his game and his chances of winning another NBA Championship are certainly higher with the Nets.
Brooklyn has constructed a great team. Be it the starting lineup or the bench, the Nets seem to be complete in every department.
The Australian guard will bring a ton of experience and around 10 points a game while coming off the bench. But, the only thing that might stop them in their tracks is injury trouble.
Even in the 2020-21 NBA season, the Nets were looking like the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Come playoff time, it was quite obvious the team still needed some time to gel together due to missing extended periods of time due to injuries.
Hopefully, this year will be different for the Nets. Do you believe the Brooklyn Nets will become the 2022 NBA champions if the roster remains healthy? Or are they still lacking? Feel free to share your opinions about it in the comments section below.
