Skip Bayless Calls Joel Embiid His Favorite Big Man: “I’m His Biggest Fan. Philly is Highly Capable Of Winning A Championship”

Embiid had one of his career-best seasons this year, finishing at second place in the MVP voting race. The 4x All-Star averaged 28.5 PPG, 10.6 RPG, and 1.4 BPG on a 51.3% shooting from the field and 37.7% from the 3-point line.

The 76ers were the top seed in the NBA, winning 49 of the 72 games. However, durability had always posed a question mark on 76ers star. The 2021 playoffs were a witness to that when Embiid suffered from a meniscus tear. Despite this, he averaged 28.1 PPG and 10.5 RPG.

NBA analyst Skip Bayless, who has been a huge fan of Embiid, called him the best big man in the league. Nevertheless, Bayless did touch upon Embiid’s durability issues.

”If you could somehow keep him healthy, he’ll be the best big man in basketball. It’s very close between Jokić and Embiid, but this guy (Embiid) would scare me more than Jokić. If he goes monster on you…. You just cannot stop him.”

When this guy goes monster on you, you just cannot stop him. He can terrorize you on both ends, he can rim protect like crazy. More @Undisputed, now on FS1 https://t.co/OhfrYWdT2s

There hasn’t been a 7-foot player in the history of the league as skilled as Embiid. The Philly center has a mid-range game, can shoot 3’s, and is a career 80.8% shooter from the free-throw line.

According to Bayless, the 76ers still have a chance to win a championship with him being on the roster. There is no doubt that Embiid is a superstar in the making. However, the 76ers front office needs to surround Embiid with an efficient supporting cast.

In the era of Big 3s, it is next to impossible for a single superstar to carry his team to the Promise Land.
