The Los Angeles Clippers are keeping Kawhi Leonard a couple of days after the 2x NBA champion declined his $36 million option. The Klaw is staying put in Los Angeles after spending the last two seasons trying to win a championship there.
This past season, things didn’t click for him and the team, but the player is ready to lead the Clips to the promised land for the first time ever. After securing point guard Reggie Jackson, Los Angeles focused all their attention on keeping Leonard on the roster.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the player is planning to re-sign with the Clippers, although the terms of the new deals are being discussed.

After suffering a knee injury, Kawhi missed a big chunk of the playoff last season. He will sit for a big part of the 2021/22 season, too, after undergoing surgery on his partially torn right ACL. The Clippers have secured their core, fortunately, while Kawhi gets ready to return to the court.
