Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Says Anthony Davis Is The Best Big Man In The NBA

Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar thinks Anthony Davis is the best big man in the entire NBA. The former New Orleans Pelicans player has taken his game to the next level in L.A., although injuries bullied him this season.

Still, KAJ is so high on him. He also played in Los Angeles and knows what it takes to win in the city. Davis is trying to emulate what Kareem did during his active days, and the 74-year-old thinks he’s on the right track. In fact, Abdul-Jabbar thinks Davis is the best big man in the league right now.

“I have a favorite big man and he happens to play in LA and wear number 3, Anthony Davis,” Abdul-Jabbar said, via Sanjesh Singh of USA TODAY Sports. “I think he’s the most talented. Defensively in the paint, he’s awesome. Offensively in the paint, he’s awesome, and then he can go out on the perimeter and be a problem. He can hit the 3 consistently or the mid- and long-range jumper. So, I would have to go with him.”

He did mention other great big men like the 2021 MVP Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid, but he is siding with AD because they wear the same colors. A Laker will always have another Laker’s back.

“But, as you said, Embiid, he’s tough, Jokic, he’s tough,” Abdul-Jabbar said. “I haven’t seen them play a lot. I might change my mind if I get a chance to see them play more, but I’m going to have to go with AD because I’m a Laker through and through and he’s proved it so far.”

In 2020, AD was on another level, helping the Lakers win their first championship since 2010. The Brow was on a tear, destroying teams before and during the bubble, making it clear he was ready to lead this team to the promised land.

Although the 2020/21 season wasn’t the best for him, Davis is confident he can go back to the top alongside LeBron James and co. Kareem knows what this guy is capable of doing, and he expects AD to step up next season, where the Lakers will try to get their revenge.
