The Worst Takes On The Atlanta Hawks Drafting Trae Young

2 Min Read

Trae Young had a terrific 2020/21 NBA season, leading his Atlanta Hawks to the Eastern Conference Finals. The young guard really took his game to the next level, demonstrating he’s more than capable of leading his team to compete for important things.

In his third season in the league, Young proved his doubters wrong, and he’s keen to keep things this way next campaign. After two campaigns getting a lot of bad comments, the Hawks star is finally getting the respect he deserves.

Recently, one NBA fan brought back all the criticism Young received when he was drafted by the Hawks three years ago. People really had no expectations for this guy, and he indeed proved them wrong. Jay Williams, Skip Bayless, and Amin Elhassan didn’t believe Trae would be good when he entered the league as the 5th overall draft pick.

Flash forward, we know this kid is the real deal, and he’s only 22 years old. The Hawks’ young core is expected to do big things in the league if they stay together. Nate McMillan took them to the next level this season, reaching the ECF where the Milwaukee Bucks defeated them in six games.

The future is bright for Trae. And, as long as the franchise has it on board, they will be candidates in the East.
